Trip to Mcleod Plantation
Conference attendees (and guests) have the opportunity to go to Mcleod Plantation (https://www.ccprc.com/1447/McLeod-Plantation-Historic-Site). Mcleod, which is part of the Sites of Conscience coalition (https://www.sitesofconscience.org/en/home/) focuses on the enslaved workers at the site and their descendants up to the present.
We are planning a Friday afternoon group tour if there is sufficient interest. This trip would take place during the first session on Friday afternoon (including lunch through session VI. Cost for this would be roughly 35$ per person (and could include lunch for an additional fee). If you are interested please contact Claire (curtisc@cofc.edu).
This local historic site is close to the peninsula (15 minute drive) and anyone with a free 2 hours could go (20$ for admission) by themselves (feel free to email Claire about that option as well!).
